Digium, The Asterisk Company have announced a full conference program for Asterisk World, taking place January 25-28, 2016, during ITEXPO East at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale.

Asterisk World offers the latest news and project updates for Asterisk, a free and open source framework for building communications applications that is downloaded nearly 2 million times per year. Attendees will be able to gain access to in depth technical sessions, participate in networking opportunities, meet potential collaborators and discuss detailed Asterisk case studies.

We are delighted to have a superb collection of sessions at Asterisk World,” said David Duffett, worldwide community director for the Asterisk open source project. “ITEXPO is a great general communications conference, and the opportunity to share something of the power and flexibility of Asterisk is something we are very excited about. Community speakers and members of the Digium team will work together to deliver high-impact presentations that cover case studies, tutorials and demonstrations of why Asterisk is the most widely used open source communications platform in the world.

The largest event during Asterisk World is the “Asterisk from Scratch” all day seminar on January 25. A well-rounded and informative overview of the Asterisk project, the seminar is designed for users that are managing a team deploying an Asterisk implementation, evaluating potential replacements for a legacy IP Phone solution or are simply new to Asterisk. It is broken into multiple sessions, beginning with background information such as the history of Asterisk, followed by examples of fundamental configuration for a call flow and features such as voicemail and IVR, and will include a comparison of SIP channel driver configuration in Asterisk 13.
