Some Interesting News: Snom to Enter the Audio Control System Market

Sources tell us that snom is about to go live with its new Snom PA1 Loudspeaker Amplifier.  This add on component will let SIP PBX users broadcast announcements and play background music to rooms, hallways, and office floors. From what we can tell, an announcement via the Snom PA1 will be effected simply by initiating a call from a snom telephone. It even said to transmit video, if a network video camera is connected to it, so images can be broadcast to other rooms or floors. By entering the audio control market, snom effectively begins competing with companies who have been fixtures in this space, such as Cyberdata. [VoIPon] So Serge, what would you say has been the most significant development at Sangoma in 2009? [Serge Forest, VP Marketing, Sangoma] Well, certainly we can see advancements on three major fronts. First on the product side we’ve launched award winning NetBorder Express Gateway 2.0 both on Windows and Linux. We’ve launched a series of hybrid telephony cards, which are unique in the industry [and they] allow [you] to mix analogue and digital telephony interfaces on a single card—very popular in the IP PBX market. And we’ve delivered clustering solutions for our SS7 software, so that’s on the product front. On the PBX market side, we’ve had...
