World market leader for cordless telephones acquires German VoIP specialists
Snom Technology is now to become part of the VTech Group, which has its head office in Hong Kong. The internationally active VTech Group is one of the largest manufacturers worldwide of cordless telephones and a market leader in the field of electronic learning products. The step promises both sides clear and tangible worldwide synergies, not least in the fields of sales and product development.
International market presence through VTech involvement
We are delighted that we have found in VTech a strong and internationally successful new owner for our company,” comments Snom CEO Gernot Sagl on the involvement of VTech. “As the largest manufacturer worldwide of cordless telephones, VTech will support us crucially with its strong technological expertise and its large international sales and market presence, enabling us to focus consistently on the development and sales of top quality premium VoIP telephones for business customers – on a global scale.”
More Snom business in Asia and North America
André Deloch, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Snom, comments on the acquisition by VTech: “Combining the strengths of VTech and Snom will allow both companies to further strengthen their market position and their technological market leadership. The presence of VTech, particularly in the Asia/Pacific region and North America, will have positive effects on Snom business that we will feel immediately.”
Synergies in development and sales
VoIP is the future of business communication and the sector is already adjusting to cloud-based Unified Communications environments,” comments C.H. Tong, President of VTech Telecommunications Ltd. when speaking about the investment. “As a pioneer in this field, Snom continually and very successfully develops new and cutting-edge IP technology solutions that fulfil the requirements of companies worldwide. The acquisition will lead to crucial synergies between Snom and VTech: in the fields of hardware and software development, through expanded sales channels for VoIP telephony products and through improvements in operational efficiency.”
The transaction is taking place subject to approval by the relevant supervisory authorities.
