Cost-effective, high performance call center application available immediately to Asterisk developers
Sangoma, a leading provider of hardware and software components that enable or enhance IP Communications Systems for both voice and data, has announced the immediate availability of its Sangoma Lyra Answering Machine Detection (AMD) for Asterisk software solution. Lyra AMD for Asterisk enables system developers to cost-effectively integrate sophisticated dialer analytics features that compete with high-cost proprietary systems into Asterisk-based platforms.
“Lyra AMD for Asterisk allows call center product developers to address the number one concern of any outbound calling operation – keeping agents on the line with prospects as close to 100 percent of the time as possible,” said Matt Florell, president of VICIdial Group, a leading provider of open source call center solutions. “For one of our key customers, a financial services call center operation making some two million outbound calls per week, Lyra AMD enabled the company to groom its calling database of invalid numbers, and ensures that agents are not connected to answering machines. The efficiencies gained helped the company double its productive call capacity.”
Announced at AstriCon in October of this year, Sangoma has seen steadily growing interest from call center solution developers eager to get their hands on this software package that delivers a unique set of call progress analytics based on specialized neural network algorithms. The software is compatible with Asterisk versions back to version 1.4, and integrates with a dialer application to help ensure out-dial call center agents are only connected to productive calls – not answering machines and intercept announcements. The Sangoma solution is proven to deliver AMD accuracy at levels of 95 percent in under 300ms, and nearly 98 percent in under two seconds.
AMD functions can be applied to TDM and SIP-based Voice over IP (VoIP) calls to provide implementation flexibility in the mixed-technology environments that are commonly found in many call center operations. In addition, Sangoma has specifically priced Lyra AMD for Asterisk for the open source marketplace, giving open source providers the ability to compete head on with large proprietary system houses.
“While some providers appear to be backing away from the open source market, Sangoma continues to maintain its strong commitment to continually developing cost-effective hardware and software solutions for open source developers looking to incorporate new features and leading-edge performance into their solutions,” added Frederic Dickey, director of professional services at Sangoma. “Sangoma recognizes the growth opportunities in open source, and its success in this space demonstrates the steady growth that the company is experiencing in both standard product and OEM engagements throughout the world.”
