Keynote speakers include Philippe Lindheimer, project leader for FreePBX; Olle Johansson, open source contributor and co-founder of AstriCon; Alistair Cunningham, general manager, Integrics; Mark Spencer, chairman and chief technology officer, Digium; and Phil Edholm, founder and president of PKE Consulting and a leading expert in WebRTC.

Celebrating the 10th year, AstriCon remains the longest running conference devoted to Asterisk, the most widely used open source communications platform. AstriCon brings together the world’s open source enthusiasts – from code developers and Asterisk integrators, to service providers and enterprise IT professionals – who all share an interest in Asterisk.

Lindheimer, Johansson, Cunningham and Spencer will present “Asterisk: Views from the Community Front Line” at 9 a.m. on October 9. In this session, each of the speakers will share reflections on the past, and more importantly, give their thoughts on the future of Asterisk.

Edholm, a seasoned industry insider and former enterprise CTO at Nortel, will present his ideas on how WebRTC is expected to shape the communications industry and discuss the implications for the Asterisk community. Edholm’s presentation will take place at 9 a.m. on October 10.

The AstriCon conference contains four tracks with more than 45 sessions, offering attendees a variety of options during the three-day event. Tracks include Security master class, Tutorial/Development, Business Case Studies, and WebRTC /Cloud.

Due to the volume of content offered at this year’s event Digium is introducing a Diamond Package that offers special pricing for multiple attendees from a single company. It includes admission to all of the AstriCon activities during the three-day event. The multi-access package is available for $1,595 USD and includes passes for up to four conference attendees from the same company.

We’re delighted with the way the community has, once again, come up with an amazingly comprehensive range of sessions for AstriCon. Compelling keynotes focused on the future of Asterisk, along with the chance to hear from, and interact with, key members of the Asterisk development team at Digium, make this event worthy of our 10th year celebration,” said David Duffett, worldwide community director for the Asterisk project. “With the volume of varied content, you will need to bring your friends and co-workers to be sure to capture everything.”
